Found with her nose in a book since she was yay-high, Bethany's way to connecting with the world has always been through stories. Drawing influences as wide as Dario Argento, David Cronenberg and Ken Russell in her writing and directing, she is compelled to bring the humanity's dark desires into the light through genre.

Bethany specialised in screenwriting and sound during her studies on the University of York's BSc Film and Television Production. Her work has been published in The Yorker magazine and sci-fi anthology Singularity50, and she was hired to write short film SHELF LIFE which was nominated for an AHRC Research in Film award. She has co-written several spec features and TV pilots with Patrick which have placed highly in screenwriting competitions including BlueCat and WeScreenplay Diverse Voices.

Her directorial debut, horror-thriller short THE AUTEUR, won Best British Director at the London Director Awards and has been selected for two BIFA-qualifying festials to date - Brighton Rocks and Women X Film Festival, where Bethany has also been nominated for the Rising Star award. The film has also played at Ravenheart in Oslo and Atlanta Horror Film Festival, and at festivals across the UK. She is in development on two shorts, THE ITCH and THE MASSEUSE, the latter of which is a finalist in the Women X Script Competition.

Her discovery of sound recording at university also led Bethany to develop this craft specialism, recording for a host of shorts and commercial projects since graduating. In 2022 she was selected in the inaugural cohort of the NFTS Amazon Prime Craft Academy, where she undertook a Certificate in Production with the school and spent 12 months on live industry placements as a trainee in location sound (MR BATES VS THE POST OFFICE), postproduction sound (SALTBURN, NOSFERATU) and production coordinating (NFTS student films). She is now a freelance location sound trainee/assistant with credits including BAD SISTERS S2, THREE BAGS FULL and PANORAMA.
